Ride2School
Corio Primary School Transport Policy
Our Active Transport policy encourages all students, where possible to walk and ride to ……….. School.
Vision
Students who ride and walk arrive exercised and socialised, ready to settle down, concentrate and learn. Riding and walking helps our students to live healthy, happy, independent lives. Our school will be free of traffic congestion at the start and end of the school day, and the streets surrounding our school will be places where students walk and ride safely. We have a school culture in which everyone knows the best way to arrive at school is by bike or on footOur school aims to have:
· Secure and sheltered parking for students who ride to school.
· Quiet Neighbourhood Routes to School for riders and walkers which are mapped and made available to parents and students.
· Bike Ed delivered to all students in Grades 4,5 and 6.
· Active Transport and Road Safety integrated into the curriculum at all levels.
· Participation in the annual Ride2School Day event.
· Monthly monitoring of the number of students riding and walking.
